It’s a total cliché to say that “fall is my favorite season” but here I am, saying it is my favorite season anyways. I am a cliché and I do not care. It’s partially the weather, it’s partially the colors, and it’s partially the fact that I am, in fact, a cliché.
- I love to finally drink my hot tea in the morning, noon, and night. The last several months have been too warm to have hot tea and I can only drink so much iced tea. Nothing beats curling up with a blanket, a story, and a cup of tea.
- It’s sweater weather! I only have two types of tops I like to wear: tank tops and sweaters. The oncoming of fall means I can start wearing hoodies over tank tops and it brings me joy.
- This is about the time of year that my husband and I make up a batch of our apple pie moonshine. This is the beverage that we will bottle and bring with us as we attend events over the next few months. It tastes just like apple pie and makes your tummy warm and fuzzy.
- I wasn’t kidding about liking the colors. The oranges and browns that make up the season make me wish the winter didn’t come so soon. Orange is usually my least favorite color except when it comes to 3 things: flowers, cars, and leaves. Those 3 things are enough to bump it towards the top of my list.
- Tis the season for sweet potatoes! I know you can get them year-round but I feel like no one wants mashed sweet potatoes unless it is the fall. I certainly eat them in abundance this time of year. Cheesy mashed potatoes or cinnamon topped potatoes are so good and I want them all the time.
Fall is a great season and I am not interested in dwelling on the negatives. I enjoy embracing the traditions and going on nippy outings. Just taking what chances I can to breathe deep with the holidays coming up fast.
