Weekly Update #1

I’m thinking about doing a weekly check-in. How does that sound? A real-time, weekly update about how I am doing and what’s going on in my life. It may not happen every week but I am curious about giving it a shot between now and the end of the year.

This weekly check-in would likely be posted on the Monday afterward. Just to give me a few days to write any last thoughts down and maybe run the post through a spell-check. Maybe add a photo or two if I have something. Taking more photos was another thing I wanted to try.

This means my new schedule would be:

Monday – Weekly check-in

Thursday – Something completely random

Can I double my output? Well, I guess we are about to find out.

So, to kick us off here’s a mini update from this last week.

  • I thought about quitting my job. Twice. I didn’t though and it’s probably still for the best despite my husband encouraging me to leave.
  • I’m working on boundaries with work. Working from home has made me too accessible to my colleagues and I’ve really felt that. Boundaries are hard but healthy!
  • My daughter is really big on going outside despite the rain so every time she gets to spend even a few minutes is the best in her life followed by the real-life throw-herself-on-the-floor tantrum because her mom is mean. Those tantrums are a thing of beauty.
  • She is learning how to ride a tricycle right now. She’s got the idea down but might be a little too short for her feet to actually peddle.
  • My husband and I purchased new parts for our favorite board game. We play a game called Shadows of Brimstone by a company called Flying Frog. We are obsessed and have waaaaay too many miniatures and cards and we can have so much fun when we get going. Maybe I’ll write a logbook for one of our campaigns and share it with you here. Regardless, the new parts came in and we were excited to open them up.
  • It’s been shark week. I’ve been dealing with an upset tummy and no appetite. Until Thursday night when we did a family trip to the bakery section of Safeway. It looked like we bought out the whole store of their sweets and pastries. I swear that wasn’t even all me. He wanted snackage first.
  • On Friday, I was able to enjoy the sunshine and go for a nice, long walk solo. There are days where I really miss alone time and this felt nice.

So, anyway, that was my week. I hope your week went well! Till next week! <3
